Hi Y'all! <3
Now that we've made it past the Monday Blues, it's not Too Cute Tuesday (totally made that up). I wanted to get into lifestyle sessions a little bit! A lot of people think that "newborn photos" have to be in my studio and with props and all these fancy poses and extravagant ideas and such. I'm such a simple person, and simple photographer. I try to keep things to a minimum and the focus on the new little bundle that has been given to you.
I have done both lifestyle sessions and in-studio sessions. I don't prefer one over the other per se. However, I cannot ever explain how much happiness there is, when you walk into a home that just had a new baby. Whether mom is holding the little one or whether the LO is sleeping or hanging out with dad. Whatever the case may be, in-home lifestyle newborn sessions are SUCH a dream and a treasure.
Your home is going to change. That's a guarantee. Whether it's the home itself (if you move), the furniture (we all need a little updating every now and then), and the one guarantee is the people that live in it! When i come see you, whether your LO is 5 days, or 5 weeks old, they will never be that small again. Your other kiddos will never look at their little baby sibling like they are that "new" again. Eventually they'll just fight (let's face it we know that's the case lol).
This family had their newborn session quite a few months ago now. I've posted a few of their pictures on my Facebook (Krystal Cline Photography) and Instagram (@krystalclinephotography). I walked in, and literally I felt like I had known them forever. Their little boys were SO freaking cute! Mom and dad were scrambling, because they had just gotten a puppy before finding out they were preggo, they had two young boys, and whole heck load going on. But, once we started, oh my.. the love in this house. I wanted to move in!
The little boys were best friends with their daddy, that was an easy thing to see, and oh my how their mommy loves them. It really was so incredible. You walk into these homes, and the families just welcome you. You see how they mesh. The boys go crazy, because they're comfortable where they are. You photograph their emotions. You photograph the connections. You freeze the moments for them that may be forgotten in the midst of new babies and sleepless nights. You don't pose them, you leave them be and see what that'll bring. You look at everyone looking at each other, and knowing that those people around them, are the ones that will always be there.
You photograph the love. That's what I like best about in-home newborn lifestyle sessions.
